ABSTRACT: A new species from Gansu Province of China, Boletus gansunensis, is described and illustrated. The species is characterised by a pale red to pastel red pileus; pinkish red small pores; and purplish red to dark purplish red and slightly furfuraceous stipe. The distinctions between B. gansunensis and the related species B. barragensis, B. magnificus, B. prolinus, B. queletii and B. subvelutipes are also discussed.
