ABSTRACT: The type specimens of Tremella australiensis, T. brasiliensis, T. coalescens, T. microspora, as well as T. samoensis were restudied. Detailed illustrations and descriptions are presented and the taxonomic status of the species is discussed. Tremella australiensis is proposed to be a synonym of T. spectabilis, while T. samoensis is considered a synonym of T. cinnabarina. Mycoparasitism of T. microspora on Stereum-like fungi is described for the first time.
